Fun and productive WaterIsLife.com meetings in Oklahoma!  We were treated to a hotel – white fluffy sheets, BBQ at Lou’s, and an amazing ice cream experience at Lush Berries!

Thank you to our host’s Ken and Nita Surritte, who spoiled Picabo and Olivia, which was very well deserved!

What a perfect closure to the trip!

CBS Channel 9 interviewed the Team on the journey’s final stop – dogs, guinea pigs and all.  A great wrap up for our goal to raise 20,00 filters for villages in Kenya.

    CBS Interview with Liv!

As we head west, across the flat open range, dotted with mesa’s reflecting the early morning sunshine, we quietly reflect on the 40-day journey.

With the presentations and meetings on the Coast 2 Coast Journey finished, I feel a sense of urgency – get home and move forward on building WaterIsLife.com with the rest of the team.  Bring water to the kids in Kenya, in Haiti, in Honduras, in so many other areas of the world.   I am not a politician, not a preacher not an activist, not a social entrepreneur.  I am but one person, with an amazing family that wants this suffering to end.  Water is a basic need, one that we all have a right to.

With the amount of money used in so many areas of our lives and world, it is challenging to understand how and why we can’t solve this crisis.  Bring water to those dying – strategize, collaborate, focus our efforts and solve.  It’s we in the United States do best.

During our travels, we were astounded at the amount of people that want to help solve the crisis.

We must collaborate and work together – schools, churches, civic organizations, corporations, small businesses, other water organizations and non-profits – and begin to make a dent in the daunting statistics that surround us.

WaterIsLife.com has achieved the first step of their first year goal – to bring filters to Haruma, a slum just outside of Nairobi.  We must continue to work hard to meet the rest of the goal to bring filters to the next two villages in Kenya.  They are in desperate need of clean water.  Please think… How Can You Help?

As the girls reflect, their single focus is getting home!  I have not, in all of our 40 days, seen the girls rise and shine early with such enthusiasm! They led the morning chores, prepared trailer for driving and sat in the truck waiting to go!  They are anxious to see their friends at school and swim and returning to their comfy bed – and a refrigerator that doesn’t throw things at you when you open it!

New Mexico to Phoenix – we feel the humidity and moisture falling off behind us…
